NEW GARY LOURIS ALBUM DARK COUNTRY OUT 2/14
Acclaimed singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer Gary Louris announces his third solo album Dark Country, releasing on February 14 via Sham/Thirty Tigers. Inspired by and dedicated to his wife Stephanie, this is the most intimate and romantic album from The Jayhawks’ frontman. The first single released today, “Getting Older” is an acoustic ode to the courage it takes to move out of the gray area and pursue true happiness.

JAYHAWKS 2024 HOLIDAY SHOWS ANNOUNCED
The Jayhawks holiday shows this year will be December 20 & 21 at the lovely The Fitzgerald Theater in downtown St. Paul, MN with special guest Freedy Johnston. The shows this year will feature a more "acoustic" approach, which presents all kinds of exciting possibilities for the setlists and staging.
Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, October 11 at 10am CT but there is an exclusive artist presale that starts at 10am CT on Wednesday, October 9. This is a reserved seat venue so get in early for best selection.

MINNEAPOLIS SOLO SHOW ANNOUNCED FOR 9/29
NEW SOLO SHOW. Gary will be doing a solo show in Minneapolis on Sunday, September 29 at O'Shaughnessy Distilling Co. This will be a rare opportunity to see Gary perform in a very intimate setting in this beautiful world class destination distillery that has made a huge splash in the American whiskey scene in recent years. Food is available in the great onsite restaurant.

THE RETURN OF THE SH*T SHOW
During the early days of the COVID shutdown in 2020, Gary Louris started a series of livestreams called The Sh*t Show With Gary Louris featuring a variety of new and old tunes, chats about a wide variety of topics and even the occasional guest star. After an 18 month absence, The Sh*t Show returns on Saturday, November 26 streaming live on The Jayhawks Facebook. DALLAS GOOD
With a heavy heart I acknowledge the passing of my good friend and brother-in arms, Dallas Good. As is often the case, the best of us are taken all too soon. I had the honor of sharing the stage and the studio with Dallas, and although I will miss his incredible musicianship, I will miss him more as a friend and a true presence in the world.
My sympathies go out to his wife Amanda, his brother Travis, his bandmates, and all who were lucky enough to have known him.

NEW SINGLE: FOLLOW
Follow, the 3rd single from the upcoming Gary Louris album, Jump For Joy, was released on May 7.
“This was originally a straightforward love song for no one,” says Louris. “However when my niece was married I rewrote it and performed it for their wedding dance. Now it has become an ode and testament to my lovely wife.” He continues, “It is a song of commitment, of partnership and a realization of when two people have that magical bond that cannot truly be explained in words.”
NEW SINGLE: ALMOST HOME
Almost Home, the 2nd single from the upcoming Gary Louris album Jump For Joy, was released on April 9.
“‘Almost Home’ started out as a jingle idea for a phone company, it was just the catchy chorus,” says Louris. “When the client didn’t use it, I wrote the verses and then it was a real song, and I’m glad they passed on it. It’s a story of travel and longing.”
American Songwriter wrote about Almost Home: “The kaleidoscopic production evokes a sense of time passing around you. Electric pop circles move the storyline in a cyclical motion, reminding the listener of the importance of remaining within the stillness to observe.” Read more HERE

In 2018, Gary Louris’ 2008 solo album Vagabonds was reissued by Run Out Groove Vinyl in a deluxe, expanded 2LP version, featuring a bonus disc of outtakes, demos, rarities and 1 unreleased track.
